A still life of a beautiful handmade glass vase filled with wild field flowers. I decided to add a plate of cherries to build contrast and also enhance the feeling of summer. The composition is pretty straightforward and somewhat simple, but this was exactly my idea. I wanted to convey that even just a small piece of our lives can sometimes bring a lot of interest and joy and remind the viewer that life can easily be beautiful even amongst the chaos of existing in the world. I put some herbs around, so that looking at the painting the viewer can imagine all the different smells and flavours coming to life. 
 
I used a lot of quick masks to give the wildness of the bouquet, but I still had to create this piece in a few different sittings so that I can layer and build up the brightest flowers and make the white ones pop out. I hope it brings a little bit of freshness to the owner's home and a sense of lightness that helps them relax when they pass through it.
