This one has a special place in my heart. The first time I entered the atelier of my art teacher, I saw a sketch of a woman in a theatre costume and thought to myself "if only I could draw like this someday, I'll be happy". This painting was made two years after I dedicated myself to the arts and was one of my earliest attempts at oil painting. I love the simplicity of it and I still remember the pride I felt after completing it, so I hope it will bring just as much joy to its future owner. It reminds me that even though pursuing a path might be difficult and hard, sometimes we can just enjoy the ride and pick the fruits of our labor.

It is full of broad strokes in an effort to break my usually timid and detail-oriented nature as a painter, the colour looks almost hazy giving it a dreamy appearance with a very vivid background to contrast the blues in the model's dress. The face of the model is almost turned away which gives the atmosphere of a person longing for something or lost in thought. The costume used belongs to a theatre in Sofia used for this session, so it brings a nostalgic feeling for times already lost to us.
